Road traffic engineering

The Road Traffic Engineering department comprises the planning, tendering and construction supervision of street furniture and traffic safety measures as part of new construction, reconstruction and expansion of roads and structures. The key areas are in the planning and tendering of traffic safety measures and in the passive protective equipment for motorways, federal and state roads as well as in the construction work scheduling for motorway construction sites.

Passive safety devices

  • The planning of passive safety devices with the determination of the performance classes required on the basis of the Guidelines for Passive Safety Measures on Roads (RPS)

  • Graphical representation of the passive safety measures on the basis of the road construction implementation planning

Environmental construction supervision

As part of the environmental construction supervision, obligations from the approval process that are relevant to the environment and legal requirements related to the protection of the environment will be taken into account in a multi-disciplinary approach as part of the realisation of building projects.

When placed with foresight and at the correct time in the planning process, in the construction preparation phase and in the construction process, environmental construction supervision contributes to the avoidance of follow-up costs for the project developer, for example through the adoption of safeguard measures or from necessary alterations to the construction schedule, as well as damage to the environment.
